Sophie Tweed-Simmons Cast in Indie Horror
Actress-model Sophie Simmons will star in the upcoming horror film “Dark Roads ’79.”
Chase Smith (“Realm of Souls”) will direct the suspenseful indie about a rock star who trades his soul for fame and fortune. Eddie George (“American Dream Builders”), Lance Paul (“Buried Cain”) and Bill Moseley (“The Devil’s Rejects”) will co-star in the film, co-written by Smith and Richard Krevolin.
Best known for starring on A&E’s “Gene Simmons: Family Jewels,” Sophie plays a woman named Stacy who travels to a remote cabin in the Appalachian Mountains with aging rock band Dark Roads. All hell breaks loose after it’s discovered that the band’s lead singer (Paul) sold his soul.
“As a long time fan of southern rock and the turbulent life on the road, the idea of marrying that kind of drama into suspense horror was too delicious to pass up,” Smith told TheWrap in a statement.
